Located in downtown Bucharest will be the future headquarters of
BRD-Societé Generale with the following characteristics:
-total build-up surface = 34 048 m2
-height = 75m
-setting in the works: 01.04.2001
-completion the works: 15.03.2003
Specific issue: one of the highest civil buildings in Bucharest;
it was the first building in Romania that the contractor was allowed
to use “couple-box system” (a system that allows the continuity
of reinforcing steel in reinforced concrete elements using a screw
nut connection). In order to allow this system that almost halved
the execution of the structure, we had to order a technical expertise
that pointed out the capacity of the system to absorb the seismic
energy. In order that Bucharest is classified as a seismic area,
is obvious that such an expertise was a compulsory requirement.
Our crew was involved in full time job at all phases of the execution
of the project.
